Dale Ted Watkins - Contributor's Biography

Dale Ted Watkins has spent nearly 30 years pushing forward the boundaries of men's hairdressing in the UK. Having trained and worked at Vidal Sassoon, Dale felt the men's market was where his passion lay and he has continued to take this passion through stints in London salons such as Refinery and Adams of London and his clients include Sasha Baron Cohen and Guy Ritchie.

Dale’s technical ability and knowledge of traditional barbering techniques puts his education company City Boy at the forefront of men’s hairdressing education and he is constantly in demand as a session stylist. He works closely with photographer Dean Chalkley and Acid Jazz records label boss Eddie Piller, and he recently styled Tony Christie for his latest album cover.

Dale believes that men’s barbering and hairdressing is undergoing a resurgence back to old-fashioned values and his bespoke approach to cuts and styles reflect traditional male notions of grooming, masculinity and style.

Dale Ted Watkins' men's salon creative haircut works with a classic square layered shape from the back using over-direction to create corners at the round of the head behind the ears. This then gives a solid guide for the square shape throughout both sides. Dale keeps the outlines soft with and disconnects the top which allows the fringe to swing whilst maintaining an internal heavy shape which sits flat.
